Construction commenced last week on luxury riverfront Sunshine Coast apartments The Ivy Picnic Point, developed by former Australian tennis champion Mark Kratzmann.

In contrast to much of the apartment product available on the Sunshine Coast that has a mix of holiday letting and owner-occupiers, The Ivy Picnic Point has been specifically designed for owner-occupiers and for those who are looking for a little luxury in their lives.

Planning to reside at the apartments himself, Mr Kratzmann has this week personally met the new owners of the 24 apartments already sold, and fully designed each apartment to meet their specific needs and desires.

“This is not something developers would typically do but we want our owners to be involved in the process of developing a home they will love, with every amenity included that their hearts desire,” Mr Kratzmann said.

“We know that 99 percent of sales to date have been to owner occupiers, so this will be an important part in ensuring we deliver a premium product and meet our buyer’s expectations.”

“This will be their new home and we want to ensure it is perfect for them.”

To date, more than 60 percent of The Kratzmann Group’s 37 luxury residential apartments have been sold off the plan, with strong interest from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne buyers, and a few from New Zealand.

New owners Brad Flynn and Lisa Marree said that they were excited to have the opportunity to tailor their apartment to their liking and looked forward to enjoying their new lifestyle.

“My vision was to have absolute waterfront in a quiet location where we can wheel the kayak out of the unit into the water, and that’s why we purchased at The Ivy Picnic Point,” Ms Marree said.

Located just 10 minutes from the Sunshine Coast airport, the eight level The Ivy Picnic Point development offers two and three-bedroom apartments, sub penthouses and four-bedroom penthouse apartments, with absolute river frontage and a favoured north-east aspect.

Design elements such as lush green gardens, external timber features and European appliances were attracting couples looking for a spacious permanent home, close to amenities and with larger than normal communal areas for socialising.

The development is also just minutes from the new master planned Maroochydore CBD, currently being constructed, which will establish the town as the centre of commerce, entertainment and civic life on the Sunshine Coast.

Located just over an hour north of Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast is currently leading the state in terms of growth. Data from the August CoreLogic Home Values Index shows that dwelling values on the Sunshine Coast grew by 5.8 per cent over the past 12 months, well above Brisbane values, which increased by just 0.9 per cent.

The Ivy Picnic Point is expected to be completed by December 2019, however The Kratzmann Group is hopeful good weather will mean an earlier move-in date.
