The contemporary and vibrant Sunshine Coast townhomes at Locale in Maroochydore are being snapped up with more than 85 percent of the development already sold, of these, 20 percent selling to first home buyers wanting to take advantage of the government’s grant before it expires on 30 June.

Construction is due to be completed in the last quarter of this year after Mayor Mark Jamieson joined builder RCQ Construction and developer RPG Developments to officially turn the sod at the Locale development site in January.

RPG Developments Executive Director Ric Peterson said he was thrilled to see the development coming to life after months of careful planning and a strong sales response from the market, particularly those looking to enter the property market for the first time.

“The Locale complex consists of 40 two and three-bedroom townhomes some of which are priced under $400,000 which, particularly in the heart of Maroochydore, represents exceptional value for money and provides first home owners with a great entry point into a strong market,” Mr Peterson said.

“The challenge for those looking to enter the market at the moment is finding quality stock without compromising on location. Our buyers to date including first home owners, downsizers and investors are relishing the opportunity to purchase a new home so close to the new CBD, Sunshine Plaza, the Ocean Street dining precinct, Maroochy River and Maroochydore’s pristine, patrolled beaches.”

Locale first home buyer, Rachel Ingram from Brisbane said it was truly amazing to see her first ever home coming to life after recently visiting the Coast and seeing the construction progress onsite.

“After purchasing off the plan last year, I feel especially confident in the team that is delivering my new home,” Ms Ingram said.

“I was very excited to find an affordable, brand new home in a location that is set to grow significantly with the construction of the CBD.

“I had been looking for the right place to buy for some time and Locale ticked all the boxes, not only in regard to price and body corporate but also location. Finding a central location which offers great lifestyle is really difficult as a first home owner, particularly on the Sunshine Coast.”

“I wanted to take advantage of the First Home Owner’s Grant but didn’t want to compromise on finding a home I loved and within a stone’s throw of shops, entertainment, beaches and the business district.”

Locale builder, RCQ Construction General Manager Gavin Wuiske said construction was progressing to schedule with seven buildings across the site now under construction and scaffolding removed from three buildings.

“Two buildings are in the process of being painted and tiled whilst installation of kitchen cabinetry has already commenced in the first building,” Mr Wuiske said.

“An exciting construction milestone was reached this week with the mains electricity for the site being installed ahead of time so we are delighted with the progress.”

RPG Developments Sales Executive Cathie Price said Locale buyers were all drawn to the intuitive and functional design of the development as well as the low maintenance lifestyle townhome living offers.

“These homes are spacious offering a second living area and separate study, downstairs powder room, pet-friendly courtyards and covered outdoor entertainment areas,” Ms Price said.

“This, as well as the appeal of a brand new home and low body corporate fees of under $2,500 per annum, has been very appealing for first home owners.

“The three-bedroom stock sold out months prior to construction commencing and with only a few two-bedroom homes left, we are confident we’ll be sold out well before construction finishes later this year.

“We still have two lots available at under $400,000 which is an ideal price range for those wanting to take advantage of the $20,000 First Home Owners Grant due to expire on 30 June this year.”

Locale prices start from $392,500 with three of the remaining lots capturing water views of the tranquil lake, the hidden gem located behind the complex.
